Tekken 8

The King of Iron Fist Tournament returns as Tekken 8 gets a shiny reveal trailer during Sony’s State of Play.

Kicking the show off with a bang, Tekken 8, Sony’s flagship arcade fighter dating back to the original PlayStation, was shown off with the above reveal trailer. The trailer picks up where Tekken 7 left off, only this time with a different father-son showdown.

Kazuya and Jin look great on the PS5, and are sporting new costumes.

Speaking with PlayStation Blog, Producer and Director Katsuhiro Harada commented, “Although this was captured from the story mode, it is not a pre-rendered movie made for the trailer but rather real-time rendered footage, running at 60 frames per second, similar to how you would experience the game in versus battle modes.”

Only time will tell as to what the roster will be, or if the seemingly unkillable Heihachi Mishima will be returning (he totally will be), but one thing is for sure, the game looks simply lovely on the new hardware. Time to get ready to FIGHT.
