CD Projekt Red has confirmed that they are working on adding multiplayer to Cyberpunk 2077 after the game launches in April 2020.

Cyberpunk 2077
Breathtaking.

The announcement was made via a Twitter post from the developers of the highly anticipated open-world shooter. It explains that after being in research and development, they are now hiring to bring multiplayer to Cyberpunk after the game hits shelves.

The plan is to release the single-player aspect of the game in April, and then in a Witcher 3-esque move, release free DLC that will include a multiplayer component at a later date. Although we don’t know what this will look like yet, community manager Marcin Momot confirmed on Twitter that, except for cutscenes and things like in-game mirrors, Cyberpunk 2077 will be played from a first-person perspective.

Cyberpunk 2077 launches on April 16th for the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia. To tide you over until then, check out this new gameplay demo from Gamescom.
