Dying Light 2

Dying Light 2 is right around the corner, so what better way to get ready for the zombie apocalypse than by digging into some of the game’s features.

Dying Light 2
Time for some more parkour fun.

After the Harran virus had taken over the world, humanity found refuge in the last few settlements still standing. Pilgrims—people who travel through the unforgiving, post-apocalyptic world—serve as a connection between the enclaves, carrying resources and valuable information. You are one of them, and you find yourself in The City, the place where humanity might find hope once again.

Modern Dark Ages Have Come

The first game was a cross between Mirror’s Edge (in term of movement and parkour) and Techland’s first zombie game Dead Island, which features some of the same weapon upgrading mechanics and similar enemy types but in a different setting entirely.

Swapping beaches for skyscrapers…

Take a look at the below list to see what’s to come in the game:

  • Decide the fate of The City – There are multiple factions fighting over control of the city and you must choose who to fight for (not the zombies though obviously). You’ll meet many survivors along the way, one important character being Lawan, portrayed by actress Rosario Dawson.
  • Embrace the night and live to see the day – At night the monsters come out to play. These are the scary ones that offer a real challenge, like in the first game.
  • Be creative. Be brutal – You can’t just rely on your parkour skills to survive try using one of two hundred weapons equipped with a selection of over twenty mods.
  • Explore the vast open world – Just do it.
  • Stay Human – It’s not just about avoiding infection, you’ll be tested emotionally and ethically too…
  • Co-op with your friends – Smash zombies to pieces with up to four buddies, what’s not to like? Oh and you can even see how the host’s actions have shaped their world differently to yours.

Dying Light 2 will be available on current and last-gen consoles as well as PC on February 4th. We can’t wait to see what Techland has in store for us, and I even took the ‘what monster are you?’ test. I got the Volatile, a deadly infected with a chest-mouth. Nice.
