In a double dose of glorious demon-slaying action, we’ve had a DMC5 trailer which satisfies our comedic curiosities, along with some questions about the combat and gameplay which were raised earlier.

As woefully brief as the trailer is, it demonstrates exactly what we’ve been looking for in a Devil May Cry for way too long, down to the wonderful humour that saturates the series with exactly what we like so much. No longer must we ponder if itt will be the game we’ve all wanted – because after these two reveals it seems it’s exactly that.

With the earlier trailers, I was sceptical – now, I have faith. Faith in that I’ll enjoy this one just as much as I hope. Bring on the slaughter-fest, Devil May Cry 5!

Dante can rip his demonic motorbike in half and use it for several unique combat moves!

While it’s obvious there are some new additions to the gameplay and combat, namely the motorbike moves shown in trailers beforehand, as well as here – there are also a slew of familiar moves that I remember from past games in the Devil May Cry series. For a veteran, it seems as though the combat will be wonderfully familiar, likely easy to pick up, but hopefully with a number of add-ons to keep things interesting.

This is good, Dante will likely be the character old fans of the series will enjoy the most, and with his moves being the same or very similar, this works perfectly. For a new method of fighting, a different style, Nero will likely be the preferable choice. I for one look forward to enjoying the difference between the two, and the added replayability this will likely bring. Perhaps we’ll be able to play through the campaign with both characters, a likely option once the game is completed, or perhaps even a feature.

Usually, the more I see the less I look forward to a game, but here… I only get more confident, keep it going Capcom, and show us the Devil May Cry we’re all dreaming of.
