Hello, you’ve caught us being thoughtful on a Thursday.
Here on thoughtful Thursday we ponder the important questions. We debate the undiscussable. We consider the insignificantly inconsiderable in all their glory. This wonderful series begins with one of our writer’s favourite games, Demon’s Souls. Buckle up as we list the inane and the insane, every Thursday, for as long as our minds are able.
Fashion
The true Demon’s Souls endgame. The only. Keeping yourself fashionable but also well defended is the impossible task. How do I balance style whilst actually standing a chance in a duel or invasion. This is true and final debate in every Souls game. Or should I say fashionsouls.
Number Seven – Modern Emris
Ah yes the modern wizard.

This style looks even better if you combine the wizard hat with an edgelord chest piece. Truly then you have the best of both worlds. Bonus points if you wield a two-hander and barely use magic. You could blast someone with the soul arts but prefer to get up and close with a Zweihander and homing soulmass. I’m salivating already.
Number Six – Dark Silver/Gloom Edgelord

You know the friend you have that always starts screaming when he/she dies to a boss more than twice? This is what they wear. It -does- look good. It just gives me “rager” vibes. They probably have too many “xX” in their username (too many is more than 0).

Number Five – The Loincloth
Do I even need to describe why this makes the list?

Only true alphas ever dare to wear such a revealing item. Especially with such a small package. Good job you.
If you ever get invaded by someone wearing this (lack of) ensemble, pull out your ethernet cord. It’s the only way to come out with your pride intact. The loss in aura from the disconnect is far smaller than the embarrassment this invader will soon cause you.
Number Four – The Penetrator

The less edgy edgelord. The Penetrator. A set from a pretty fun boss, this one does look pretty swank. It’s spiky, but not too spiky. Dark, but not “I might break my own controller” dark. One of my favourite sets for a slightly heavier melee build, for sure.
Number Three – The Poster Boy (fluted set)
Hey I’m the guy on the game box. Nuff said.

No, seriously, I don’t think I need to say anything else.
You’ve seen the box art for this game right? It’s sick. This is the guy on it.
Seriously just look at the box art, stop reading this article. Google it. Go grab it from your shelf or something.
Agree it’s cool as heck? Okay good now read on.
Number Two – Tornado Man

A true statement, the tornado hat is a piece that stands the test of time. I still miss this style as it was my piece of choice when playing the original Demon’s Souls. Where is my twisty headgear, FromSoft? It pairs very well with some heavy but slim armour, I myself prefer the spiky set for that extra edge goodness. I wouldn’t be surprised if some of my invasion victims found themselves confronted with a bit too much edge, honestly. Likely had to clean up after themselves. What can I say, that’s the power of fashion.
Finest Fashion – Doran Cosplay
Big D. The one and only. The giant dad of Demon’s Souls. Get some drum and bass on, wear your best rings, and rock this armour set. There’s no better way to spend your precious Souls time. Being a good player is optional.

We hope you liked our thoughts this week. Join us in being thoughtful with the comments below. Do you agree? Bear in mind these lists are objective and cannot be disputed.

Penetrator’s set is so hard to get in the remake and the fluted knight’s set would be #1 for me if we’re talking the original game, remake kinda ruins it (and only really lets you obtain the helm Ostrava wears)
