The rumours have all been true, but to be fair you would’ve been crazy to bet against this coming, as a remastered Spyro trilogy will be gliding onto Xbox One and PS4 this September.
After the success of the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy on PS4, in addition to the announcement that Crash will be coming to Xbox One and Nintendo Switch in the summer, and rumours of a potential new game next year, it was easy to imagine Spyro receiving the same treatment.

The Reignited Trilogy will take Spyro back to his roots, comprising of his first three outings; Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage, and Spyro: Year of the Dragon. The developers that worked on the Skylanders franchise, Toys for Bob, will be performing the remaster, which was reportedly “remade from the ground up” a press release from Activision read. It will also feature “improved environments, updated controls, brand-new lighting and recreated cinematics.”
The date for your calendars is September 21st and you can dive back into the action on PS4 and Xbox One.
