E3 2017: What we want to see

The biggest gaming show in the world, E3, is right around the corner again with this year set to be as exciting as ever. The main giants of the industry; Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo will be present showing off what they have in store for the coming year, as well as developers and publishers such as Ubisoft and Bethesda.

So here at Try Rolling we’re looking forward to a few things. Here’s my most anticipated games, and generally what I want to see at E3 2017.

Nintendo at E3

Is this Nintendo’s year?

Nintendo – Switch

This has all the makings to be Nintendo’s year, with the Switch recently releasing and many games speculated to be coming to the system. Games coming soon include Splatoon 2 and Sonic Mania.

Microsoft – Xbox Scorpio (Xbox One X)

In recent years Microsoft haven’t really delivered at E3. That could all change this year as the Xbox Scorpio is making the rounds, with many people suggesting that it will bring the company back into contention with the PlayStation 4, however, price will be a factor to take into consideration for the upgrade. It’s a big year for Microsoft.

Sony – VR/PS4 Pro

After already releasing the PS4 Pro, which allows games to be played in 4K, Sony may want to focus on the games and not the hardware this year. Unless of course, PlayStation VR takes centre stage.

The Last of Us Part 2

We can’t wait to see more at E3.

Call of Duty: WW2

Call of Duty returns this year with WW2, a return to the series’ roots in terms of setting, but only time will tell if Sledgehammer games can bring back the feeling of classic World War 2 combat. One thing that is confirmed is that the Multiplayer create-a-class system has been altered, and is now called ‘Divisions’. This will allow players to choose between 5 styles;  Airborne, Mountain, Infantry, Armored, and Expeditionary Force.

The Last of Us Part 2

Naughty Dog’s trailer for latest instalment in The Last of Us saga left many gamers wanting more, and with Sony’s conference fast approaching, a gameplay trailer could be likely. We just want an excuse to see Joel and Ellie again, but hopefully they don’t get ‘stage fright’.

Death Stranding

The fact that it will not be making an appearance at E3 this year only adds to the mystery of Death Stranding. The game, developed by the legendary Hideo Kojima, looks very interesting and it would have been nice to see more, however, as Kojima Productions tweeted, the studio is focusing on “development to bring you the best.” Hopefully more of what the game is about will be revealed in the coming weeks.

Knights and Bikes

An interesting indie game that is being developed by former Media Molecule employees, Knights and Bikes looks set to be a hit, being picked up by Double Fine’s publishing arm.

Bloodborne

Could we see Bloodborne 2?

Bloodborne 2

From Software’s cult classic Bloodborne could very well see a sequel revealed at E3. The studio has said that they are currently working on another title separate from the Souls series and this could be it, especially seen as the DLC for Dark Souls 3 has concluded.

Splinter Cell

A new Splinter Cell game would be a welcome sight at the event, with the series seemingly going cold after Ubisoft’s most recent Splinter Cell: Blacklist.

Update

Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus and Metro Exodus have been announced, and definitely make their way onto this list.

The event takes place until June 15th in Los Angeles, with around 15,000 members of the public attending.
