E3 2017: Metro Exodus announced at Microsoft conference

Metro Exodus

First-person survival game, Metro Exodus, has been announced by 4A Games at Microsoft’s E3 conference.

The sequel to 2013’s Metro: Last Light and the third game in the series, Exodus is set to be more of an open-world experience, as opposed to its linear predecessors. The game will take place over the duration of a year, combining classic underground combat, with vast, above ground gameplay.

4A Games has stated that this is the studio’s “most ambitious project yet” as players get ready to exit the metro.

Got to love hunting mutant creatures with a makeshift crossbow.

Executive producer, Jon Bloch told Twitch:

“The story starts in Moscow… you play as Artyom and it picks up from Metro: Last Light’s [canon] enlightened ending.”

He added that players will encounter familiar faces, but wouldn’t go into detail, and said that Artyom, the lead character, will eventually travel outside of Moscow. He ended by teasing that “there’s a big storm brewing in the horizon.”

Fans of the post-apocalyptic series will have to wait for further news as to what this will entail, although from what can be seen in the above trailer, the game looks very promising.

Metro Exodus will be released in 2018 for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
